THE ALASKA HIGHWAY
Plan a fishing or flight adventure with Liard Tours on your travels along the Alaska Highway half way between Fort Nelson, BC and Watson Lake, Yukon on the way to the Whitehorse or Skagway, Alaska. Our floatplane base at Northern Rockies Lodge can be accessed year round via the paved and well-maintained Alaska Highway.
By Car: The Northern Rockies Lodge is easily reached via paved and well-maintained roads from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Whitehorse. We are at Mile 462 of the world famous Alaska Highway. For visitors to Nahanni National Park, Muncho Lake on the Alaska Highway is the closest departure point accessible by fully paved roads.
By Bus: The Greyhound bus travels by the Northern Rockies Lodge three times every week. Travel hubs for the Greyhound bus are Whitehorse, Edmonton and Vancouver. Greyhound travel is by far the most cost effective way to reach the Northern Rockies Lodge.
By Air: There are regular flights with Central Mountain Air to Fort Nelson (www.flycma.com). All of our packages give the option of bundling a 3 hour flight to Fort Nelson with Central Mountain Air from Vancouver. In addition, both Whitehorse and Fort St. John are less than seven hours drive from Northern Rockies Lodge and are serviced by several major air carriers from cities across Canada.
Many of our week-long package vacations include an option to bundle airfare and a private shuttle to our base at Northern Rockies Lodge in Muncho Lake, British Columbia. Take away the worry by letting us arrange transportation for you on your wilderness adventure. See our all-inclusive Lure of the North Adventure Tour or guided fishing packages for more information and pricing.
